Carol O’Grady

In 1867, 618 Front St. was built by Carol’s great great great grandparents and has been part of the family ever since. Carol’s ancestors, the Koetters, were the ones responsible for the build. Carol says that the house has played a role in many of the families memories as time has passed. Carol bought the house from her Great aunt and uncle and has since then turned it into the beautiful home that we see today. When the home was built it had no indoor plumbing so Carol had to change the footprint of the home through creative decisions on renovation. She has made a bedroom into a kitchen and a hallway into a bathroom. These are only a few of them numerous updates that have been completed over the years. Carol was careful not to get rid of the history of the home though while making her adjustments. When asked about her favorite parts of the house Carol responded that she loves the history and the memories as well as the location. She loves living downtown where it is a short walk to all the downtown amenities that Marietta has to offer.
