The Marietta Board of REALTORS® would like to Congratulate the Schultheis Family for winning Home of the Month for April 2021. This charming early century home has been the family home for more than 18 years. It has been where their family of six grew to a family of nine. Their pride in this six-bedroom home began with Nancy who felt she had found her diamond in the rough. Being only the fourth family to own the home, the family has painstakingly remodeled. With an intention to keep as much of the original construction, they begrudgingly replaced the old wood floors on the first floor that were too far gone to save. But they were able to keep the original wood floors on the second floor where three of the six bedrooms are located. They have kept all three ornate fireplace mantles with glass and marble. They designed and remodeled the basement into a family room and additional bedrooms to manage their big and growing family. On the outside they felt the white was too plain, so they painted the home yellow. Over the years it was time for a change and so the hunt began to find a color that would allow their home to stand out and remain unique, so Mellow Coral it was. With the white ornate trim and stone foundation façade and steps this house is unique and an example of what our Washington County Residents will do to make our county a better place to live and visit. And as they continue to raise their big family, they are also excited to welcome the next generation to their family home soon.
