MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - Some kids from the Boys and Girls Club received a special treat thanks to some local organizations.
The Marietta Board of Realtors, the Quality Inn, and Undo’s on the Pike sponsored a swimming and pizza party for the Boys and Girls Club of Washington County. The club consists of more than 80 kids from kindergarten to the 12th grade.
Angie Scott is the interim executive director at the club. She believes the party allows the kids to socialize and get to know each other outside of the club.
“These kids see each other day before school and or after school but they don't see each other outside the Boys and Girls Club, so this was a great opportunity for them to spend a couple of hours together not doing homework and doing the programming we do at the Boys and Girls Club they just kind of got to let loose and have some fun,” she said.
Traci Strahler Chichester is the president of the Marietta Board of Realtors. She says her organization hopes to work more with the Boys and Girls Club as well as youth in the community.
